BIOGAS PLANTS_

High-Efficiency Processes

The plants designed by AGF develop high-efficiency biogas production processes, which can maintain stability with high concentrations of N and fats. They can cope with feeding modifications and control the biogas production.

The designs are our own.

The profitability of these processes depends on their stability and the annual hours of availability.

Comprehensive Design and Execution

A biogas plant processing waste is a process industry. The raw material can change and the plant must be designed to face variations in the composition and quantity of the inputs.

The design requires the combination of operation and engineering experience.

Integration of all the processes is fundamental for an optimal design.

Operation

Operation consists of reducing risks and maximizing profitability. The methanogenesis process is exothermic. AGF biogas plants work around this optimum, so that the reactors must be cooled. Operating the plant is a complex task that requires multidisciplinary knowledge and awareness of the plant’s capacities. Operation should not be divorced from engineering.

AGF production control enables modifying the flow of gas produced and working at constant dome level.

Waste Management Plant

Producing biogas from organic waste makes it necessary to build a Waste Management Plant. Treatments are required before and after to make this activity possible. AGF has developed processes that include sterilization, different types of hygienization, and reduction of nitrogen in digestate using NDN.

These processes take place as part of the integrated plant solution.

URBILIZA RENOVABLES

This plant has presented serious operational problems since it came into operation. A technical intervention was performed to bring the plant into production. The full power of the plant was obtained in three months.

Operated by AGF since 2014.

Power production 500 kWe. 2 CHP.

Plant improvement in 2018. Digestate lagoon.

Plant improvement 2021. Industrial Building. Odor treatment system. Installation of an independent safety flare.

WESTER KERROWGAIR

The first plant built by Qila Energy, using in-house own design and development technology. The AGF team participated in all the design phases of the plant, designed and supplied the control system and was responsible for starting it up during March and April 2016.

Design and commissioning by the AGF team in 2016.

Power production 1000 kWe. 2 CHP.

Typical plant for the European market, fed with energy crops.

At the moment, remote support is given and the control system is being updated.

TUXFORD

The second plant built by Qila Energy, using in-house design and development technology. The AGF team participated in all the design phases of the plant, designed and supplied the control system and was jointly responsible for starting the plant during March and April 2016.

Design and commissioning by the AGF team in 2016.

Power production 500 kWe. 2 CHP.

Typical plant for the European market, fed with energy crops.

BIOGASNALIA

AGF’s first biogas plant construction project in Spain. Turnkey  Format. 2016. Start-up September 2017.

BIOGASNALIA is an exemplary waste management company that seeks to improve the service to its clients and its waste treatment process was a pioneer in industrial biogas.

On a complex site, a compact high-efficiency plant was built, capable of processing 90 t/day of waste.

Use of the gas. Self-consumption. Boiler combustion control by AGF.

Steam boilers. 2 units.

Generator set.

Biogasnalia has been an energy island since the middle of 2018, with the biogas plant covering all its  consumption of  steam and electricity.

It processes industrial sludges from different food industries.

BIOMETAGAS LA GALERA

AGF’s second biogas plant project in Spain. Turnkey  Format. 2017-2019. Start-up summer 2019.

BIOMETAGAS LA GALERA devised a pioneering biomethane production project  in the year 2017. The biogas plant is designed to process up to 200 t/day of organic waste.

Built in Turnkey format.

Use of the gas: Production of biomethane.

It has been operational since  2019, awaiting  the start of gas injection.

EXPANSION BIOGASNALIA 2021

BIOGASNALIA decided to expand the existing plant within the limitations of the site after its first few years of operation.

An additional reactor was built so that production can be kept up during reactor maintenance, and to obtain longer storage times for digestate on the site.

Intake flow: 90 t/day.

Industrial sludges.

Use of the gas: Production of biomethane.

This expansion brings the plant to its maximum size, which is strongly determined by its site.
